Although the drive is long, it will be well worth it as you will see incredible sceneries and meet local communities along the way. Depending on your request and time, you will stop at the Equator for pictures, lunch en-route, and other optional few stops.

Drive time is eight to nine hours.

Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge/Buhoma Community Rest Camp is lodging.

DAY 02: Gorilla tracking Experience in Bwindi.

Following breakfast at the resort, you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing from a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guide who will assign you a gorilla family group to walk that day. Once your group is confirmed—eight people—the two ranger guides will accompany you into the deep, impenetrable jungle to begin your quest for the rare Mountain Gorilla species under threat. From where they were last seen the previous day, the gorilla search always starts. Once you get to the habitat of these well-known species, you will only be able to engage with them for one hour; so, you should always keep maximum silence while among these Gorillas. You are free to photograph and so on.

Although typically dictated by weather and the movement of the gorillas in the forest, gorilla tracking can occasionally be demanding depending on the hike that day. Given this, you have 99% probability of seeing the gorillas during your trip. Advanced trackers who track the gorilla movements all day in the forest will guide the trip; they will know where they nested for the last night and so steer your search. Leading you all through the walk clearing paths, the two ranger guides will create new pathways and share with you knowledge about the mountain gorillas and Bwindi forest. You will return to the beginning of the trail to pick your certificates as evidence of effective mountain gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
