Kidepo Savannah Lodge

Kidepo Savannah Lodge is situated on Kawalokol Hill, adjacent to the park, with a view of Narus Valley, 500 meters from Kalokudo Gate. The term Kawalokol in the Karamojong language translates to cave hill. Visitors at the lodge will enjoy stunning vistas of the flora, Mount Morungole, Narus Valley, and various animal species, including elephants, oribi, waterbucks, buffaloes, side-striped jackals, spotted hyenas, lions, and leopards at night, as well as the melodious calls of bird species such as the African dwarf eagle and fox tail, among others.

Kidepo Valley National Park is situated in northeastern Uganda, within Kaabong District, and is accessible via road or air transport.

Road travel offers multiple routes to access the park, including a journey from Kampala to Karuma, Lira, Kotido, and Kaabong, which requires approximately 12 hours.

The journey from Kampala to Karuma, Gulu, Kitgum, Kaabong, and ultimately to Kidepo Valley National Park requires approximately 10 hours of driving.

The journey from Kampala through Mbale, Sironko, Moroto, Kotido, and Kaabong to the park requires approximately 12 hours of driving.

The journey from Kampala to Kidepo Valley National Park via Mbale, Soroti, Moroto, Kotido, and Kaabong requires approximately 13 hours of driving. Consequently, each route provides numerous attractions, including stunning scenery, diverse landscapes, and rhino tracking along the western route via Karuma, among others.

Kidepo Valley National Park can be accessed via air transport, with domestic airlines such as Aerolink Uganda Limited offering scheduled and chartered flights from Entebbe Airport or Kajjansi Airfield to Apoka Airstrip or Kidepo Airport, with a flight duration of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
