Entrance fees for Kidepo Valley National Park 2025/2026: Kidepo Valley National Park is a savannah national park situated in the northeastern portion of Uganda, namely in Karamoja, between the borders of South Sudan and Kenya. Kidepo Valley National Park encompasses an area of 1,442 square kilometers and hosts a diverse array of wildlife species, including elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, giraffes, warthogs, zebras, hippos, elands, bush pigs, side-backed jackals, oribi, spotted hyenas, and a variety of avian species.

Entrance fees to Kidepo Valley National Park are the charges imposed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority on all visitors for access to the park and participation in various activities such as game drives in the Narus and Kidepo valleys, bird viewing, guided nature walks, and cultural tours. All visitors seeking entry to Kidepo Valley National Park must produce proper identification credentials to verify their residency status and a COVID-19 immunization card. A daily entrance ticket to Kidepo Valley National Park is valid for twenty-four hours from the moment of entry, and any additional time spent in the park beyond this period will incur a payment for an extra day. Children are individuals aged 5 to 15 years, while those under 5 years are exempt from charges.

Foreign non-residents incur a fee of 40 USD per individual, foreign residents are charged 30 USD per individual, and East African citizens pay 20,000 UGX per individual.

Minors

Foreign non-residents incur a fee of 20 USD per kid, foreign residents are taxed 10 USD per child, and East African citizens pay 5,000 UGX per child.

Ugandan pupils and students in groups incur a fee of 3,000 UGX per individual, whereas tertiary institutions and universities are charged 5,000 UGX per individual, and Uganda Wildlife Clubs are charged 2,000 UGX per individual.

Yearly park admission passes

The annual park entrance pass is applicable solely to foreign residents in Uganda and East African citizens; vehicle entry fees must be paid separately. Foreign residents must get a one-year work permit to be eligible for an annual pass.

Singular

Foreign residents incur a fee of 350 USD per individual, whereas East African citizens are charged 350,000 UGX per individual.

Pair

A foreign resident pair is charged 600 USD, whereas an East African citizen couple gets charged 500,000 UGX.

Automobile access charges

Vehicle admission costs are assessed on a per 24-hour basis, with the exception of concessionaire tourist cars, which incur a single fee per journey within the park. Rescue vehicles will incur charges equivalent to those of other vehicles based on their categorization.

Foreign residents are charged 40 USD per saloon car, whereas East African natives are charged 20,000 UGX per vehicle.

Minibuses and omnibuses for foreign residents incur a fee of 50 USD each vehicle, whereas East African citizens are charged 30,000 UGX per vehicle.

Pick-ups for international residents incur a fee of 50 USD each vehicle, while East African citizens are charged 30,000 UGX.

The tour firm charges 150 USD per car for foreign residents and 30,000 UGX for East African inhabitants for the use of a vehicle with 4-wheel drive.

Foreign residents are charged 150 USD each vehicle, whereas East African natives are charged 100,000 UGX.

Buses and lorries for foreign residents incur a fee of 200 USD each vehicle, whereas East African citizens are paid 200,000 UGX.

School buses incur a fee of 50,000 UGX each vehicle, while delivery vans are charged 20,000 UGX per entry.

Landing fees for aircraft (per landing)

Landing fees do not include admission payments required from passengers; pilots in transit are exempt from entry fees if their duration in the park is under 2 hours.

Foreign residents are taxed 10 USD every landing for microlights, whereas East African natives are charged 20,000 UGX.

For international residents, the fee for up to 3-seater aircraft is 20 USD every landing, while East African natives are paid 40,000 UGX.

Foreign residents are charged 30 USD per landing for 4 to 6 seater aircraft, whereas East African citizens are charged 60,000 UGX.

Aircraft with a capacity of 7 to 14 seats incur a fee of 40 USD per landing for foreign residents and 80,000 UGX for East African citizens.

Aircraft with a capacity of 15 to 20 seats incur a fee of 50 USD every landing for international residents and 100,000 UGX for East African citizens.

Aircraft with 21 seats or more are charged 60 USD per landing for foreign residents and 120,000 UGX for East African inhabitants.

Foreign resident helicopter landings incur a fee of 125 USD, whereas East African citizens are charged 250,000 UGX.
